I just received this kit and I admit to being a little disappointed. An excellent film at the height of the book! The scenes are very well filmed! The emotion is at its height! Not to be missed!!! For me, it is an average movie. The battle scenes are endless. We do not understand anything because this is the mess of course. The costumes are impressive, but they do not correspond to the historical reality. The lights are artificial. The actors surjouent. There are quite a few dialogues. The main actor is a Charlin Chaplin skinny and cheat instead of being a rugged man and right. Also, Kurosawa had originally elected the player of Zatoichi, which would have much better corresponded with the role. Total change of scenery, beautiful images with a Blu-ray awesome. This is an incomparable experience. But beware, this is not a movie, rather a documentary, and even still rather a trip. The polar English of the 50s is classic : two mobsters friends to the life-and-death (Jean Gabin, René Dary), a type on which we can count (Paul Frankeur), two femmes fatale (Jeanne Moreau, Dora Doll), a bastard (Lino Ventura is unexpected in this role), and a package of flouze (the famous "grisbi" from a great case-insensitive). Yet, it was one of the greatest hits of the 50's (even in the States)... to watch more by the interest of the historian by entertainment. the DVD : the colouring is excellent. It is difficult to believe that the film was at the base in the N&B! Unfortunately, the sound is very delicate (so much so that the subtitle option appears office). In terms of bonus, it is not ecstasy. The interviews would have been desirable rather than the usual filmographies... Damage.. Very good japanese movie reference. Nice to see it in VO subtitled. Long Version a little too long for us. This film is very well done, but in the French version there are moments where the sound does not work the actors speak without understanding what they say it bothers them a little but this is not annoying for the complete understanding of the film. It is a film that must be absolutely with two huge actors on a universal theme. Has to have in your library. M-The Cursed is a success of German cinema and a masterpiece absolute. Has just entered in the speaking, Fritz Lang manages to use all the possibilities, both in the theatrical genre as in the more laconic of modern cinema. The mounting is also systematic and accurate staging than can be expected from a German director. Memory, it seems to me that scenes have been added to the version that was in the room years ago; it adds a little but all is good. Very good copy, some plans are as fresh as if they had been filmed recently.
